The JobMaker Hiring Credit Scheme is a Federal Government incentive to businesses to employ additional young job seekers aged 16 - 35 years. Employers can claim JobMaker Hiring Credit payments to assist with the cost of hiring additional employees.

The JobKeeper Amendment Bill 2020 was passed by Federal Parliament last week. At this stage what is outlined below is all we know.  We are still awaiting further details regarding “Actual GST Turnover” as previously we had the option to nominate GST turnover on either a Cash or Accrual Basis.  We are also waiting on details regarding the “Alternative Tests”.


The Government has extended the JobKeeper Payment Scheme, with further changes / updates made to the JobKeeper Scheme on Friday 14 August 2020. The changes mean more employees can qualify, a payment extension to 31 August, and new information is available.

The JobKeeper Payment, was originally due to run until 27 September 2020, will now continue to be available to eligible businesses (including the self-employed) and not-for-profit organisations until 28 March 2021.


The Victorian Government recently launched a $500 million Business Support Fund to help small businesses in Victoria survive the impacts of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and to keep Victorian people employed in work. The Business Support Fund is part of the Victorian Government's $1.7 billion Economic Survival Package.

The Federal Government has just announced COVID-19 JobKeeper payments to help businesses keep their employees connected to their business, so businesses are in a better position to bounce back when things return to normality. $1500 per fortnight available to full time, part-time and casuals employed for 12 months or more.  This payment is also available to Sole Traders.
